Robert Clinton Smith (born March 30, 1941) is an American politician who has served in both the United States House of Representatives and the Senate. He has held elective office as and is a member of the Republican Party and once announced a party switch to the Taxpayer's Party, and later announced an independent bid but rejoined the Republican Party in order to become a Committee Chairman while in the U.S. Senate.
