Rob Diament - Early Life

Early Life

Diament grew up in Berkshire and began to play classical piano (his first instrument) at the age of four. Diament's classical training continued in piano and violin, whilst at the same time he learnt to sing in a local church choir. Songwriting soon followed but Diament only began to record his music at the age of thirteen. At his secondary school in Reading, Diament met Luke Busby for the first time, his later collaborator in Temposhark, but interestingly the two never collaborated until leaving school many years later. Diament and Busby also studied alongside Hollywood actress Natalie Dormer. However, Diament sang in a number of rock bands and became a regular concertgoer in the town, best known for the annual rock festival Reading Festival. In his later teens, Diament's live performances in London and Reading had attracted much interest from both high profile musicians and music industry professionals alike, which led to the recording of his debut EP.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)

[The sceptic] must acknowledge, if he will acknowledge any thing, that all human life must perish, were his principles to prevail. All discourse, all action would immediately cease, and men remain in a total lethargy, till the necessities of nature, unsatisfied, put an end to their miserable existence.
    David Hume (1711–1776)
