Vithalrao Vandekar Road is one of the three main roads of Kalyani Nagar - a Software Hub and a modern locality of Pune. Vithalrao Vandekar Road stretches for almost 2 km running from Nagarwala School Chowk to Aga Khan Bridge. Aga Khan Bridge connects Koregaon Park with Kalyani Nagar. Software companies like Cyabage, HSBC, Wadia's Stud Farm etc. are situated on this scenic riverside road. Gold Gym in Kalyani Nagar is also situated on this road. Vithalrao Vandekar Road is named by Pune Municipal Corporation in honour of one of the great sons and social reformer of India - Vithalrao Krishnaji Vandekar. It was Vithalrao Krishnaji Vandekar who, on 11 May 1888 bestowed upon Jotirao Phule the title of 'Mahatma' on behalf of the bahujan samaj in a function held in the hall of Mumbai Deshastha Maratha Dnyati Dharma Sanstha at Mandvi, Koliwada, Mumbai.
