In the 2013 version, Judy Greer will be playing the role of Rita Desjardin, Carrie’s gym teacher, who tries to sympathize and help her. Greer gushed about the movie, saying it’s “amazeballs.” She also stated: "Weirdly, it’s kind of beautiful. It’s really totally jarring and creepy but also in a strange way gorgeous. Chloë’s performance—and this is literal—has brought me to tears on set. She’s made me cry because I find her performance to be incredibly moving. I’m feeling a lot of compassion for her.”
