Riddler’s Revenge is a Bolliger & Mabillard stand-up roller coaster located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. Opened on April 4, 1998, Riddler's Revenge set stand-up coaster records for height 156 feet (48 m), drop (146 feet (45 m)), speed (65 miles per hour (105 km/h)), track length (4,370 feet (1,330 m)), largest vertical loop (124 feet (38 m)), and the most inversions on a stand-up coaster . All five of these records eclipsed those of Chang, which opened at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom the year before. Chang was relocated to Six Flags Great Adventure in 2011.
- 124-foot-tall (38 m) vertical loop, which wraps around the lift hill
- Two diving loops, the second of which also wraps around the lift hill
- Inclined loop
- Two corkscrews (flat spins) after the mid-course brake run
As the Riddler was an archenemy of Batman, The Riddler’s Revenge is located appropriately adjacent to Batman: The Ride, in the back of the park. The Riddler's signature question mark is featured on the coaster's logo. The area around the ride itself is modeled largely around the Riddler's lair in Batman Forever, including a gigantic model of the NygmaTech "box."
The Riddler's Revenge is one of only two Bolliger & Mabillard roller coasters to feature a vertical loop that wraps around the lift hill, with the other being Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
The techno music that played on the loading platform is Ecuador (Bruce Wayne Mix) by Sash! (Bruce Wayne being the secret identity of Riddler's nemesis, Batman).
Famous quotes containing the word revenge:
“Our trouble is that we drink too much tea. I see in this the slow revenge of the Orient, which has diverted the Yellow River down our throats.”
