Current Patronship and Festivals

Richard is the patron saint of the county of Sussex in England. Since 2007, his translated saint's day, 16 June, has been celebrated as Sussex Day.

Richard is honored with a feast day on the liturgical calendar of the Episcopal Church (USA) on April 3, which is also the date for his commemoration in the new Roman Martyrology of 2004 for the Roman Catholic Church.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or festivals:

Without the Empire we should be tossed like a cork in the cross current of world politics. It is at once our sword and our shield.
    William Morris Hughes (1864–1952)

Why wont they let a year die without bringing in a new one on the instant, cant they use birth control on time? I want an interregnum. The stupid years patter on with unrelenting feet, never stopping—rising to little monotonous peaks in our imaginations at festivals like New Year’s and Easter and Christmas—But, goodness, why need they do it?
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)
