Richard Inwood

Richard Neil Inwood (born 4 March 1946) formerly Archdeacon of Halifax, was consecrated the Anglican Bishop of Bedford by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Rowan Williams at Southwark Cathedral on 7 March 2003. He served in Sheffield, London, Bath and Yeovil, before his Halifax appointment. His wife, Liz is a maths teacher and examiner. Before ordination, Bishop Inwood spent a year teaching in north-west Uganda and worked as a research and development chemist with ICI in Manchester for nearly two years.

Inwood studied chemistry at University College, Oxford and theology at Nottingham University. He is the co-author of Moved by Steam: Beside the tracks and on the trains 1962-67 with Mike Smith (Kettering, 2009 ISBN 978-1-85794-323-8).
