There are three main types of retaining rings available, each of which may then be broken down into sub-types depending on unique application needs:

  • Tapered section
    • Axially assembled
      • Inverted
      • Beveled
      • Bowed
    • Radially assembled
    • Self-locking
  • Constant section
  • Spiral
