Restraining Line

A restraining line for women's lacrosse is placed at both 25-yard (23 m) lines. There are eleven players on the field, not including a goal keeper. Only seven offensive players and seven defensive players are allowed inside the restraining line. International rules however allow an 8v8. If a team has excess players inside the restraining line, that team loses possession of the ball.

Famous quotes containing the words restraining and/or line:

Municipal laws are a supply to the wisdom of each individual; and, at the same time, by restraining the natural liberty of men, make private interest submit to the interest of the public.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

Next to the originator of a good sentence is the first quoter of it. Many will read the book before one thinks of quoting a passage. As soon as he has done this, that line will be quoted east and west.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
