Reservoir Capacitor - Performance With Low Impedance Source

Performance With Low Impedance Source

The above diagram shows reservoir performance from a near zero impedance source, such as a mains supply. As the rectifier voltage increases, it charges the capacitor and also supplies current to the load. At the end of the quarter cycle, the capacitor is charged to its peak value Vm of the rectifier voltage. Following this, the rectifier voltage starts to decrease as it enters the next quarter cycle. This initiates the discharge of the capacitor through the load.

Famous quotes containing the words performance and/or source:

The honor my country shall never be stained by an apology from me for the statement of truth and the performance of duty; nor can I give any explanation of my official acts except such as is due to integrity and justice and consistent with the principles on which our institutions have been framed.
    Andrew Jackson (1767–1845)

Because relationships are a primary source of self-esteem for girls and women, daughters need to know they will not lose our love if they speak up for what they want to tell us how they feel about things. . . . Teaching girls to make specific requests, rather than being indirect and agreeable, will help them avoid the pitfalls of having to be manipulative and calculating to get what they want.
    Jeanne Elium (20th century)
