"Righteous Among The Nations"
The Danish resistance movement as a collective effort, rather than as individuals, has been honoured at Yad Vashem in Israel as being part of the "Righteous Among the Nations". The rescue of the Jews of Denmark is represented in Yad Vashem's Holocaust History Museum by an authentic fishing boat from the Danish village of Gilleleje that was used to rescue Jews.
Also honoured are a handful of Danes who were not members of the official resistance movement, and Georg Ferdinand Duckwitz.

Famous quotes containing the words righteous and/or nations:
“There are only two kinds of men: the righteous who think they are sinners and the sinners who think they are righteous.”
—Blaise Pascal (16231662)
“Poetry is the most direct and simple means of expressing oneself in words: the most primitive nations have poetry, but only quite well developed civilizations can produce good prose. So dont think of poetry as a perverse and unnatural way of distorting ordinary prose statements: prose is a much less natural way of speaking than poetry is. If you listen to small children, and to the amount of chanting and singsong in their speech, youll see what I mean.”
—Northrop Frye (19121991)
