Christianity
See also: Biblical cosmology, Ex nihilo, and CreationismIt is a tenet of Christian faith (Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant) that God is the creator of all things from nothing, and has made human beings in the Image of God, who by direct inference is also the source of the human soul. In Chalcedonian Christology, Jesus is the Word of God, which was in the beginning and, thus, is uncreated, and hence is God, and consequently identical with the Creator of the world ex nihilo.
The New Testament claims that God created everything by the eternal Word, Jesus Christ his beloved Son. In him:
- "all things were created, in heaven and on earth.. . all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Famous quotes containing the word christianity:
“Whats the greatest enemy of Christianity to-day? Frozen meat. In the past only members of the upper classes were thoroughly sceptical, despairing, negative. Why? Among other reasons, because they were the only people who could afford to eat too much meat. Now theres cheap Canterbury lamb and Argentine chilled beef. Even the poor can afford to poison themselves into complete scepticism and despair.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
“Wherever there are walls I shall inscribe this eternal accusation against Christianity upon themI can write in letters which make even the blind see ... I call Christianity the one great curse, the one great intrinsic depravity, the one great instinct for revenge for which no expedient is sufficiently poisonous, secret, subterranean, pettyI call it the one immortal blemish of mankind....”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
