Fabisch but known mostly to Kenyans as national coach for Harambee Stars in 1987, 1997 and 2001–02. He has previously managed the national teams of both Zimbabwe, as well as Emirates Club in the UAE.

As manager of the Benin national football team he was embroiled in a controversy over match-fixing, after claiming he was asked for fix a result.
