Regina Mundi Catholic College - Layout

Layout

RMC consists of three floors, a basement, and two large portables. Many new students find the size daunting, but it is actually very easy to learn the layout, because it is fairly simple for a high school of its size. There is one main hallway with classrooms on either side. There is one corner in the hall, but it is straight except for that. There are three main stairwells that service all floors-a central one located next to the chapel, and a left and right located on each side. Other stairs are scattered throughout the school that provide access to one other floor. Many of these are not in a hallway but are in a room, such as the connection between the drama room and the single-gym stage where performances are put on. The tech wing, however is quite confusing. It is set off-level with the rest of the school, so that the first floor of the tech wing is situated between the basement and first floor, accessed via a basement ramp. The same goes for the second tech floor. English is held in a portable, with the Religion portable next door. The basement houses the cafeteria, foods, arts, locker rooms, staff dining room, and family studies. First floor has the gyms, the chapel, the offices, the language wing, and the science wing. On second floor, there's geography, math, the library, and other subjects, as well as a fully stocked media room for music classes. Third floor does not have very many classrooms, but has visual art, computer lab, and math rooms among others.

Some changes to the wings at RMC. The language wing on the first floor now houses the Religion classrooms. Language classes now take place on the second floor. The art room on the third floor was turned into 2 classrooms, and art is now in the basement. The English portable and the dance portable are the only ones used now by RMC. The religion portable is being used by the LDCSB.
