Bell Tower

Recently, there has been news that the bell tower, a historic landmark of the school for 47 years, will be sadly torn down. The bell tower has been falling apart these last few years, and when a piece of the tower fell around November 2010, it was quickly decided to tear it down, as the cost to repair the tower would be 1.2 Million dollars. As if March 1, 2011, the bell tower is now dismantled and gone.

Famous quotes containing the words bell and/or tower:

    The sad, the lonely, the insatiable,
    To these Old Night shall all her mystery tell;
    God’s bell has claimed them by the little cry
    Of their sad hearts, that may not live nor die.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    Culture is a sham if it is only a sort of Gothic front put on an iron building—like Tower Bridge—or a classical front put on a steel frame—like the Daily Telegraph building in Fleet Street. Culture, if it is to be a real thing and a holy thing, must be the product of what we actually do for a living—not something added, like sugar on a pill.
    Eric Gill (1882–1940)
