Reform Party of The United States of America - 2012 Presidential Election

2012 Presidential Election

The Reform Party held its 2012 National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, August 11-12, 2012.

At the national convention, the Reform Party nominated Andre Barnett of New York for President and Ken Cross of Arkansas for Vice President. Among those who sought the nomination before dropping out several months prior to the convention were former Savannah State University football coach Robby Wells, former CIA agent Robert David Steele, economist Laurence Kotlikoff, historian Darcy Richardson, and former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer.

The Reform Party ticket was ultimately only able to secure ballot access in Florida due to factionalism within the party. Earlier, in June, the Reform Party of Kansas nominated Chuck Baldwin for President, while the Mississippi Reform Party chose Barbara Dale Washer as their candidate.

Famous quotes containing the words presidential and/or election:

Because of these convictions, I made a personal decision in the 1964 Presidential campaign to make education a fundamental issue and to put it high on the nation’s agenda. I proposed to act on my belief that regardless of a family’s financial condition, education should be available to every child in the United States—as much education as he could absorb.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

In the past, as now, Haiti’s curse has been her politicians. There are still too many men of influence in the country who believe that a national election is a mandate from the people to build themselves a big new house in Petionville and Kenscoff and a trip to Paris.
    Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960)
