Red Lion Hundred

Red Lion Hundred is the name of an unincorporated subdivision of New Castle County, Delaware. Hundreds were once used as a basis for representation in the Delaware General Assembly, and while their names still appear on all real estate transactions, they presently have no meaningful use or purpose except as a geographical point of reference.

Famous quotes containing the words red and/or lion:

    Here thou art painted in the dress
    Of an inhuman murderess;
    Examining upon our hearts
    Thy fertile shop of cruel arts:
    Engines more keen than ever yet
    Adorned tyrant’s cabinet,
    Of which the most tormenting are
    Black eyes, red lips, and curled hair.
    Andrew Marvell (1621–1678)

    The lion dying thrusteth forth his paw
    And wounds the earth, if nothing else, with rage
    To be o’erpowered.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
