Real Radio (Yorkshire)

Real Radio Yorkshire is an independent local radio station that broadcasts across South and West Yorkshire, England. It is the third regional radio station within the Real Radio brand, the first being in South Wales.

The station plays music from the past 25 years to the present day with a target audience of the 30 something adult.

The station transmits from Emley Moor on 106.2 MHz FM, which covers the majority of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, including Leeds, York, Doncaster, Huddersfield and Rotherham. It also broadcasts from Idle on 107.6 MHz FM to Bradford and Halifax, and on 107.7 MHz FM from Tapton Hill to Sheffield.

On 25 June 2012 it was announced Global Radio (the owner of stations such as Capital and Heart) had bought GMG Radio. The former GMG stations, including Real Radio, will continue to operate in a "hold separate" situation known as Real and Smooth Ltd.

Real Radio's managing director is Steve South.
