Family

Rasikendra Nath Nandi belonged to a Varendra Kayastha family of Pabna. His father Radhabinod Nandi, a follower of Gaudiya Vaishnavism was a petty Zamindar of Pabna district. Radhabinod’s family, originally belongs to Nandi family of Baghutia, was a staunch follower of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. They used to worship Radha-Vinod (deities of Sree Radha and Lord Krishna). Their family vigraha (idols) of Radha-Vinod had been crafted in Jaipur sometime between 1840 and 1850. This is a replica of the original vigraha of Radha-Vinod presently kept in Jaipur, Rajasthan. A portion of the Zamindari in Pabna was dedicated for the service of Radha-Vinod. The present members of the family of Rasikendra Nath still worship Radha-Vinod with great respect and devotion.

Famous quotes containing the word family:

When a family is free of abuse and oppression, it can be the place where we share our deepest secrets and stand the most exposed, a place where we learn to feel distinct without being “better,” and sacrifice for others without losing ourselves.
    Letty Cottin Pogrebin (20th century)

The value of a family is that it cushions and protects while the individual is learning ways of coping. And a supportive social system provides the same kind of cushioning for the family as a whole.
Michael W. Yogman, and T. Berry Brazelton (20th century)

We do not raise our children alone.... Our children are also raised by every peer, institution, and family with which they come in contact. Yet parents today expect to be blamed for whatever results occur with their children, and they expect to do their parenting alone.
    Richard Louv (20th century)
