Early Life and Pre-porn Career
West grew up in New York City, and later moved to South Florida. He originally hoped to play professional baseball (though he did play baseball for the University of Miami), but he instead decided to pursue a career as a singer. He was lead singer for several rock bands over the course of ten years, and also worked as a nude art model. He then moved to California in 1979. Randy was also a member of Chippendale's dance company, and worked as stripper at private events from 1980 to 1992. For porn he went with the name Randy West instead of his original name.
