Campaign Scenarios

Just as Railroad Tycoon II, the game contains a campaign with several scenarios, presented by continent - North America, Europe and the World. The campaign interface is an interior of a railway museum, with the voice of the elderly eccentric museum guide from Railroad Tycoon II.

North American missions:

• Go West: New York State & New England, 1840-66. Mission: Connect Boston to Buffalo
• Germantown, USA: Midwestern USA 1850-80. Mission: Connect Cleveland to St. Louis
• Central Pacific: San Francisco-Salt Lake City, 1855-76. Mission: Connect Sacramento to Salt Lake City
• Texas Tea: Texas & northeastern Mexico, 1888-1918. Mission: Haul oil across Texas and, if possible, haul coffee from Mexico to the US.
• The War Effort: Mid-Atlantic USA, 1941. Tactical scenario. Mission: The mission starts on December 11 and you have until December 15 to haul military supplies to either Norfolk, Virginia, or New York City where they can be put onto military convoys.

European missions:

• The State of Germany: Germany, 1848. Mission: Connect the German states and unify Germany into a single nation
• The Flying Scotsman: Great Britain, 1848-65. Mission: Connect London to Edinburgh
• Crossing the Alps: Venice-Munich-Zürich, 1875-1910. Mission: Conquer the Alps and connect the cities of Venice, Munich, and Zurich
• The Third Republic: France, 1871-96. Mission: Help France recover from its defeat in the Franco-Prussian War and reclaim its glory as a world power
• Orient Express: Balkans, 1880-1914. Mission: Connect Vienna to Istanbul and become the most famous railroad in Europe

World missions:

• Argentina 1880-1909. Mission: Connect the cities of Argentina and haul supplies throughout the nation
• Rhodes Unfinished: Eastern Africa, 1902–33 Mission: Connect the cities on the Indian Ocean coast to the inland cities
• Japan Quakes: Japan 1964-85. Mission: Help Japan recover in the wake of a major earthquake.

Futuristic missions:

• The Seeder: Greenland, 2050. Tactical scenario. Mission: After global warming melts all the ice in Greenland, plant prototype plant seeds that grow instantly across the countryside and make Greenland green
• Dutchlantis: Western Europe, 2021-51. Mission: After the Netherlands recover from flooding caused by global warming, help rebuild the nation's railroads.
• A chip off the Old Block: California, 2050-80. Mission: After major earthquakes tear a chunk of California away from the rest of the state, connect the island cities to the mainland and help California recover. Hint: Be wary of earthquakes during this campaign. They can hit anywhere, anytime.

Besides these, the game contains several stand-alone scenarios, such as post-war Italy, France, Western Europe in 1990, Australia, Germany and more.
