Raffles Girls' Primary School - School Song

School Song

The School song was composed in the 1960s, when h was the principal. She requested that all teachers think of the lyrics for the School Song, and Patricia M Tan’s set of lyrics was adopted. The score was composed by Ng Chiau Kong.

We shall try to do our best
Never stopping for a rest
Always ready to help each other
Eager to learn from one another

Together, we shall strive
To build a better life
Together, together
All the way

We'll be polite, quick to obey
Grow in wisdom day by day
We are girls from RGPS
Always striving to be the best

Together, we shall strive
To build a better life
Together, together
All the way

Famous quotes containing the words school and/or song:

I am both a public and a private school boy myself, having always changed schools just as the class in English in the new school was taking up Silas Marner, with the result that it was the only book in the English language that I knew until I was eighteen—but, boy, did I know Silas Marner!
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

Water. Its sunny track in the plain; its splashing in the garden canal, the sound it makes when in its course it meets the mane of the grass; the diluted reflection of the sky together with the fleeting sight of the reeds; the Negresses fill their dripping gourds and their red clay containers; the song of the washerwomen; the gorged fields the tall crops ripening.
    Jacques Roumain (1907–1945)
