Radio Cracker - Sustaining Service

Sustaining Service

The sustaing service was run by a team from Harrow led by Paul Simmonds. This service ran as Radio Cracker Harrow during the daytime, providing national news on the hour for the Cracker network as well as a 30 minute magazine program of material from around the Radio Cracker network at 7pm every evening. From 10pm until 6am the Harrow service broadcast as just Radio Cracker, allowing all the other projects to use it as a sustaining service.

Famous quotes containing the words sustaining and/or service:

Semi-Saracenic architecture, sustaining itself as if by miracle in mid air; glittering in the red sunlight with a hundred oriels, minarets, and pinnacles; and seeming the phantom handiwork, conjointly, of the Sylphs,... the Fairies,... the Genii, and ... the Gnomes.
    Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849)

In the early forties and fifties almost everybody “had about enough to live on,” and young ladies dressed well on a hundred dollars a year. The daughters of the richest man in Boston were dressed with scrupulous plainness, and the wife and mother owned one brocade, which did service for several years. Display was considered vulgar. Now, alas! only Queen Victoria dares to go shabby.
    M. E. W. Sherwood (1826–1903)
