Radha Soami Satsang Beas Leaders

Radha Soami movement traces its origins to Param Sant Rai Saig Ram, chief disciple of Swami Ji (Shiv Dayal) (now in Uttar Pradesh State). There are a number of other contemporary movements that use the name "Radhasoami" but Radha Soami Satsang Beas is not associated with any of them. The Beas Satsang was founded by Shivdayal Singh's disciple Jaimal Singh. It is unknown if Swami Ji ever knew who Jaimal was. Jaimal was rejected by all Swami Ji's family and high disciples of the day and was being excommunicated 3 days before his death. Salig Ram threw Jaimal out of his satsang for pretending to be a guru. The Beas lineage is:

  • Sant Tulsi Sahib of Hathras
  • Girdhari Das d. 1861
  • Soamiji Mahārāj Shivdayal Singh of Agra
  • Rai Salig Ram of Peepal Mandi, Founder of Radhasoami Faith
  • Sant Jaimal Singh Mahārāj - Master at Beas, 1884-1903.
  • Hazur Bābā Sāwan Singh Mahārāj - Master at Beas, 1903-1948.
  • Sardār Bahādur Jagat Singh Mahārāj - Master at Beas, 1948-1951.
  • Hazur Mahārāj Charan Singh - Master at Beas, 1951-1990.
  • Bābā Gurinder Singh Mahārāj - Master at Beas, 1990-present.

Famous quotes containing the word leaders:

No matter how vast, how total, the failure of man here on earth, the work of man will be resumed elsewhere. War leaders talk of resuming operations on this front and that, but man’s front embraces the whole universe.
    Henry Miller (1891–1980)
