R. H. Bing

R. H. Bing (October 20, 1914, Oakwood, Texas – April 28, 1986, Austin, Texas) was an American mathematician who worked mainly in the areas of geometric topology and continuum theory. His first two names were Rupert Henry, named after his father. He did not like his name, so he told everyone R.H. were just single letters that do not stand for anything: see below.
