Pure (company)
Pure is a British consumer electronics company, based in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, founded in 2002. Pure is a division of another Hertfordshire-based company, Imagination Technologies, which primarily builds processors and graphics chips. Imagination did not originally set out to sell consumer electronics and the first Pure radio was merely a demonstration platform for its DAB decoding chip. Sales were beyond expectations, with queues forming for the Pure Evoke-1, the first sub-£100 DAB receiver.
Pure designs and manufactures digital radios and audio equipment. Most well known for producing Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) receivers, Pure also manufactures several highly rated iPod/iPhone docks. Pure products are marketed in the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, and via online suppliers. Pure radios have won more than 200 awards from review websites and audiophile and computer magazines.
