Puppet Animation Scotland

Puppet Animation Scotland is Scotland's national organisation for the promotion and development of puppetry and animation as art forms.

They have three annual festivals:

  • Puppet Animation Festival. This is Scotland largest and longest established performing arts event for children and their families. Every Easter, puppetry companies tour their shows around Scotland to all sorts of venues from large city centre theatres to small village halls.
  • manipulate Visual Theatre Festival. manipulate is a festival of innovative theatre arts presented by Puppet Animation Scotland at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh.
  • Animated Islands. This festival is currently in development for Autumn 2011.

Puppet Animation Scotland’s portfolio of festivals and support schemes provide the means to foster creativity, innovation and excellence throughout Scotland’s professional puppetry and animation communities. Puppet Animation Scotland also offers a range of skills development opportunities for young practitioners preparing for entry into the sector. This portfolio of professional opportunity and skills development has supported Scottish puppeteers in presenting their work to more than 1.4million people throughout the UK.
