Proposal of New Routes
Singapore based Silk Air had shown interest in starting non-stop flights to Pune in 2011, two members of the airline having visited Pune Airport to examine air traffic potential for this service which would use aircraft like the Airbus A319 or A320 to accommodate 120 to 180 passengers.
A direct air link to Kuala Lumpur was also called for by the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce in 2012. These flights could be operated by AirAsia and Malaysian Airlines.
IndiGo wants to launch four new flights connecting Pune to Bangalore and Delhi. A additional service to Kochi via Bangalore will be also started by IndiGo.
GoAir wants to start three new routes from Pune to Ahmedabad, Chennai and Mumbai. The airline today operates on Pune - Chennai route out of these three routes.
