Progressive Field

Progressive Field is a Major League baseball park located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It is the home field of the Cleveland Indians professional baseball team, and together with Quicken Loans Arena, it is part of the Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex. It was ranked as Major League Baseball's best ballpark in a 2008 Sports Illustrated fan opinion poll.

The ballpark was named Jacobs Field after team owners Richard and David Jacobs, from its inaugural season in 1994 until 2008, when its name was changed to Progressive Field after its naming rights were purchased by the Progressive Insurance Company. Fans refer to the ballpark as The Jake, based on the park's original name, and since the renaming, people have infrequently called it "The Pro" or "The Prog".

Famous quotes containing the words progressive and/or field:

Politically, Swift was one of those people who are driven into a sort of perverse Toryism by the follies of the progressive party of the moment.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

My prime of youth is but a frost of cares,
My feast of joy is but a dish of pain,
My crop of corn is but a field of tares,
And all my good is but vain hope of gain:
The day is past, and yet I saw no sun,
And now I live, and now my life is done.
    Chidiock Tichborne (1558–1586)
