Pro Wrestling Illustrated Awards

This is a list of both active and inactive Pro Wrestling Illustrated awards. The awards are voted for by fans of the magazine every year from 1972 onwards, expanding to more categories in later years. Unlike the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, PWI is largely a magazine written within the fictional realm of professional wrestling, or kayfabe, and the awards recognise this.

Famous quotes containing the words pro, wrestling and/or illustrated:

It is sweet and honourable to die for one’s country.
[Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.]
Horace [Quintus Horatius Flaccus] (65–8 B.C.)

There are people who think that wrestling is an ignoble sport. Wrestling is not sport, it is a spectacle, and it is no more ignoble to attend a wrestled performance of suffering than a performance of the sorrows of Arnolphe or Andromaque.
    Roland Barthes (1915–1980)

The capacity of the female mind for studies of the highest order cannot be doubted, having been sufficiently illustrated by its works of genius, of erudition, and of science.
    James Madison (1751–1836)
