President of The Church - Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints broke with the Community of Christ over the issue of lineal succession, when, in 1995, W. Grant McMurray was named the successor to the President Wallace B. Smith. Members of the Remnant Church continue to believe in the lineal succession. As such, the prophet of the Remnant Church, President Frederick Niels Larsen, is a direct descendant (maternal 2nd great-grandson) of Joseph Smith, Jr.

Famous quotes containing the words remnant, church, jesus, christ, day and/or saints:

The remnant of Indians thereabout—all but exterminated in their recent and final war with regular white troops, a war waged by the Red Men for their native soil and natural rights—had been coerced into the occupancy of wilds not far beyond the Mississippi.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

What is a wife and what is a harlot? What is a church and what
Is a theatre? are they two and not one? can they exist separate?
Are not religion and politics the same thing? Brotherhood is religion,
O demonstrations of reason dividing families in cruelty and pride!
    William Blake (1757–1827)

    Is it true?
    Is it true?
I can only imagine it is true
that Jesus comes with his eggful of miracles,
his awful death, his blackboard full of graffiti.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

What if this present were the world’s last night?
Mark in my heart, O Soul, where thou dost dwell,
The picture of Christ crucified, and tell
Whether that countenance can thee affright,
    John Donne (1572–1631)

He who will one day teach men to fly will have displaced all boundary stones; the boundary stones themselves will fly up into the air to him, and he will rebaptize the earth—as “the weightless.”
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

I know we’re not saints or virgins or lunatics; we know all the lust and lavatory jokes, and most of the dirty people; we can catch buses and count our change and cross the roads and talk real sentences. But our innocence goes awfully deep, and our discreditable secret is that we don’t know anything at all, and our horrid inner secret is that we don’t care that we don’t.
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)
