Windows
Microsoft Windows also uses PPD files but converts these to a binary file format before using them. These are normally stored in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3. Updating the PPD files requires removing and then reinstalling the printer.

Famous quotes containing the word windows:
“The light struggled in through windows of oiled paper, but they read the word of God by it.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
“I came on a great house in the middle of the night
Its open lighted doorway and its windows all alight,
And all my friends were there and made me welcome too;
But I woke in an old ruin that the winds howled through;
And when I pay attention I must out and walk
Among the dogs and horses that understand my talk.”
—William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
“But let my due feet never fail
To walk the studious cloister’s pale,
And love the high embowed roof,
With antic pillars massy proof,
And storied windows richly dight,
Casting a dim, religious light.”
—John Milton (1608–1674)
