Senator Feinstein introduced a bill to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, the Respect for Marriage Act, in the 112th Congress. The bill was passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on November 10, 2011.

She does not support the Uniting American Families Act, but introduced a private bill to keep together a binational same-sex couple.
