The Politecnico di Milano is the largest technical university in Italy, with about 38,700 students. The rector of the university is professor Giovanni Azzone. The Politecnico offers undergraduate, graduate and higher education courses in Engineering, Architecture and Design.

The university is ranked as the 48th best technical university in the world according to the QS World University Rankings.
