Pleasant Street Firehouse

Pleasant Street Firehouse is a historic firehouse at 408 Pleasant Street in Worcester, Massachusetts.

It was built in 1873 in a Late Victorian style and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Famous quotes containing the words pleasant and/or street:

Then, if when I have lov’d my round,
    Thou prov’st the pleasant she,
With spoils of meaner beauties crown’d
I laden will return to thee,
    Ev’n sated with variety.
    Richard Lovelace (1618–1658)

The invention of photography provided a radically new picture-making process—a process based not on synthesis but on selection. The difference was a basic one. Paintings were made—constructed from a storehouse of traditional schemes and skills and attitudes—but photographs, as the man on the street put, were taken.
