Perform A Platelet Swirling Test
Even though this is a noninvasive test, ensure universal precautions are taken and wear the proper personal protective equipment.
- Turn on a 50 to 100 watt white light source.
- Hold the bag of Platelet Rich Plasma horizontally, approximately 12-30 inches away from the light.
- Gently move the bag with your fingers so the PRP is in motion in front of the light.
- In the thin areas of the PRP bag, observe the appearance of the unit for swirling.
- Record results as seen.
Results of a Platelet Swirling test are recorded as positive or extensive swirl, moderate or intermediate swirl, and absent or negative swirl.

Famous quotes containing the words perform and/or test:
“This sand seemed to us the connecting link between land and water. It was a kind of water on which you could walk, and you could see the ripple-marks on its surface, produced by the winds, precisely like those at the bottom of a brook or lake. We had read that Mussulmans are permitted by the Koran to perform their ablutions in sand when they cannot get water, a necessary indulgence in Arabia, and we now understand the propriety of this provision.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The test of literature is, I suppose, whether we ourselves live more intensely for the reading of it.”
—Elizabeth Drew (18871965)
