Pitch Detection Algorithm - Spectral/temporal Approaches

Spectral/temporal Approaches

Spectral/temporal pitch detection algorithms, e.g. the YAAPT pitch tracking, are based upon a combination of time domain processing using an autocorrelation function such as normalized cross correlation, and frequency domain processing utilizing spectral information to identify the pitch. Then, among the candidates estimated from the two domains, a final pitch track can be computed using dynamic programming. The advantage of these approaches is that the tracking error in one domain can be reduced by the process in the other domain.

Famous quotes containing the words spectral, temporal and/or approaches:

How does one kill fear, I wonder? How do you shoot a spectre through the heart, slash off its spectral head, take it by its spectral throat?
    Joseph Conrad (1857–1924)

    What’s this, Aurora Leigh,
You write so of the poets and not laugh?
Those virtuous liars, dreamers after dark,
Exaggerators of the sun and moon,
And soothsayers in a tea-cup? I write so
Of the only truth-tellers, now left to God,—
The only speakers of essential truth,
    Opposed to relative, comparative,
    And temporal truths;...
The only teachers who instruct mankind,
    From just a shadow on a charnel-wall.
    Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806–1861)

You should approach Joyce’s Ulysses as the illiterate Baptist preacher approaches the Old Testament: with faith.
    William Faulkner (1897–1962)
