Pippa Haywood

Pippa Haywood (born 6 May 1961) is an English actress who trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Famous for playing the much-put-upon Helen Brittas in the BBC One comedy series The Brittas Empire, Haywood has an extensive television career which includes Julie Chadwick in the BBC Two comedy Fear, Stress & Anger and the hot-tempered, sex-mad HR boss Joanna Clore in Green Wing (for which she took the "best comedy female performance" award at the 2005 Rose d'Or television festival in Lucerne, Switzerland).

With the exception of an episode of Boon, the first episode of The Brittas Empire, an episode of She-Wolf of London and two episodes of Brush Strokes (all of which credited her as "Phillipa Haywood"), she has always been credited on screen as "Pippa Haywood". Best known for her comedy roles, she has also done some straight acting roles in her career, including that of Jenny Thorne in the ITV drama serial The One Game, and the character of Mrs. Upjohn in Agatha Christie's Poirot, episode Cat Among the Pigeons. She has filmed a guest role in an episode of the 2009 series of Kingdom. She is currently featuring in Prisoners’ Wives, a BBC One drama following four very different women, each struggling to cope with a significant man in their life serving time in prison. She will take on one of the lead roles as Harriet.

She has also worked in film and theatre. Recent stage credits include: House & Garden, Private Lives, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Winter's Tale, Requiem and Landscape with Weapon at the National Theatre. She is currently playing the lead role in Wanderlust at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.
