Pingu (series 2) - Pingu Gets A Bicycle

Pingu Gets A Bicycle

Pinga is playing happily with her teddy and toy pram when Pingu zooms up on his scooter (The one he had in Pingu and the Seagull). Pinga immediately switches her attention to the scooter and really wants a go. Pingu won’t let her, and Pinga tries to knock him off. But Pingu scoots off. Father then arrives on the motorised sledge, and Pinga greets him. He agrees to take her for a ride, but doesn’t look where he’s going and flattens and destroys the pram. Pinga is inconsolable and begins to cry, to the extent of remaining against a wall. Pingu arrives back, sees Pinga's Teddy and the broken pram, and goes indoors. Pinga is still crying, so he tries to distract her by playing his drum. This has little effect so Mother tries a lollipop, giving Pingu one as well. This also has no effect for Pinga. Pingu then gathers up many other toys in a cart and offers them to Pinga, who refuses and knocks over the cart. Father is out walking feeling ashamed of himself, when he comes up to a toy store and has an idea. When he arrives home he presents Pinga with a stuffed blue rabbit, but Pinga denies a stuffed rabbit that makes Pingu, Mother and Father embarrassed. Pinga says she wants something better and starts crying again that she is more inconsolable. Mother and Father give up and have a controversy with each other about what Pinga wants, but Pingu never gives up and then decides that he knows what she really wants and gets his scooter and tells Pinga she can have a go. She immediately cheers up and sets off at speed. After crashing into and through various things she hits a bump and falls off, ending up buried under the snowman. Pingu is very worried she might have hurt herself, but she comes up laughing. Pingu gives her a cuddle, and Pinga cuddles on the scooter and hugs too for her.

Famous quotes containing the word bicycle:

I well recall my horror when I heard for the first time, of a journalist who had laid in a pair of what were then called bicycle pants and taken to golf; it was as if I had encountered a studhorse with his hair done up in frizzes, and pink bowknots peeking out of them. It seemed, in some vague way, ignominious, and even a bit indelicate.
