Phil Cunningham (rock Musician) - New Order

New Order

In 2001, Cunningham joined New Order, once again as a touring musician as replacement for Gillian Gilbert who had stepped back from live commitments in order to care for her children. At this point New Order were touring Get Ready, their first album in eight years, and were enjoying a renaissance, hence played shows in Europe, Japan and the US. Cunningham remained part of New Order beyond his initial role as a touring musician for the 2005 album Waiting for the Sirens' Call, where he made his recording and co-writing debut with the band.

From 2007 to 2011 the band were on hiatus, but Cunningham was once again part of New Order's 2011 reunion concerts, this time with Gilbert returning to the band too, and continued to perform with the band during the world tour of 2012.

Famous quotes containing the word order:

Since [Rousseau’s] time, and largely thanks to him, the Ego has steadily tended to efface itself, and, for purposes of model, to become a manikin on which the toilet of education is to be draped in order to show the fit or misfit of the clothes. The object of study is the garment, not the figure.
    Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)

I do not know if you remember the tale of the girl who saves the ship under mutiny by sitting on the powder barrel with her lighted torch ... and all the time knowing that it is empty? This has seemed to me a charming image of the women of my time. There they were, keeping the world in order ... by sitting on the mystery of life, and knowing themselves that there was no mystery.
    Isak Dinesen [Karen Blixen] (1885–1962)
