Pforzheimer House - House Committee

House Committee

Student life and house events are administered by the House Committee, or HoCo, whose voting members must be from the Junior Common Room, i.e. the undergraduate student body of the house. Members of the Senior Common Room may attend HoCo meetings as non-voting participants. The committee operates separately from the Harvard Undergraduate Council, to organize student events and manage funding. The HoCo, as with the other student government organizations in the Houses, are funded by the UC. The current co-chairs of the HoCo are Maya Ayoub and Graham Frankel, both members of the class of 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words house and/or committee:

Mrs. Susan Hart Neville: “Oh, Mr. President, it is so good of you to call on me. Won’t you please walk into the parlor and sit down?”
President Wilson: “I haven’t time to sit down. Your house is on fire.”
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)

I find it profoundly symbolic that I am appearing before a committee of fifteen men who will report to a legislative body of one hundred men because of a decision handed down by a court comprised of nine men—on an issue that affects millions of women.... I have the feeling that if men could get pregnant, we wouldn’t be struggling for this legislation. If men could get pregnant, maternity benefits would be as sacrosanct as the G.I. Bill.
    Letty Cottin Pogrebin (20th century)
