Health Impacts
Pesticide exposures can produce two distinct types of adverse health effects – acute (short-term) effects and chronic (long-term) effects. The severity of adverse health effects are determined by following factors: the dose, the route of exposure, an individual’s genetic vulnerability, age at the time of exposure and general health condition; the length of exposure, environmental factors and intakes with other chemicals through other factors.

Famous quotes containing the words health and/or impacts:
“The first year was critical to my assessment of myself as a person. It forced me to realize that, like being married, having children is not an end in itself. You dont at last arrive at being a parent and suddenly feel satisfied and joyful. It is a constantly reopening adventure.”
—Anonymous Mother. From the Boston Womens Health Book Collection. Quoted in The Joys of Having a Child, by Bill and Gloria Adler (1993)
“We are no longer in a state of growth; we are in a state of excess. We are living in a society of excrescence.... The boil is growing out of control, recklessly at cross purposes with itself, its impacts multiplying as the causes disintegrate.”
—Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
