People's National Party (Fiji) - Reaction From The Grand Coalition

Reaction From The Grand Coalition

The Grand Coalition Initiative Group, of which the PNP had been a member, said on 9 March that it was still in the dark about why the PNP had withdrawn and merged into PANU. Grand Coalition President Tomasi Vakatora said the move was unexpected and disappointing, and expressed doubts about whether the newly merged party would win any seats in the upcoming election.

Famous quotes containing the words reaction and/or grand:

In a land which is fully settled, most men must accept their local environment or try to change it by political means; only the exceptionally gifted or adventurous can leave to seek his fortune elsewhere. In America, on the other hand, to move on and make a fresh start somewhere else is still the normal reaction to dissatisfaction and failure.
    —W.H. (Wystan Hugh)

I was walking along and I’m looking at the tall buildings. And I got to thinking about what Thoreau said: “They created a lot of grand palaces here, but they forgot to create the noblemen to put in them.”
    Robert Riskin (1897–1955)
