64-bit Processors
The x86-64 instruction set, introduced with the AMD Opteron processor, is a 64-bit version of the x86 instruction set. All x86-64 processors are Pentium compatible processors, but older Pentium compatible processors that don't support the x86-64 instruction set cannot run 64-bit software.
