Pembroke Yeomanry - Post War

Post War

In 1946 the Pembroke Yeomanry received the Freedom of the Town and County of Haverfordwest. Over the years there have been various reorganisations of the Territorial Army, which has resulted in several changes of role for the Pembroke Yeomanry, from Cavalry to Artillery to Cavalry to Infantry to the Royal Corps of Transport and finally in 1993 becoming part of the Royal Logistic Corps, as the 224 (Pembroke Yeomanry) Squadron RLC.

Famous quotes containing the words post and/or war:

I can forgive even that wrong of wrongs,
Those undreamt accidents that have made me
Seeing that Fame has perished this long while,
Being but a part of ancient ceremony
Notorious, till all my priceless things
Are but a post the passing dogs defile.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

O I know they make war because they want peace; they hate so that they may live; and they destroy the present to make the world safe for the future. When have they not done and said they did it for that?
    Elizabeth Smart (1913–1986)
