Legacy
In 1988, two Swiss nuclear research institutes were combined to form the Paul Scherrer Institute, based near Villigen in Canton Aargau.
Jan 1, 1988, the former institute for reactor research (EIR) and Swiss Institute for nuclear research (SIN) merged to Paul Scherrer Insitut (PSI) with its first director named Professor J.P. Blaser.
