Singing Career
With the fame he achieved on The Donna Reed Show, Petersen received recording offers and he had hit record singles with the songs "She Can't Find Her Keys", "Amy", and "Lollipops and Roses", as well as the sentimental teen pop song "My Dad", which was introduced on The Donna Reed Show in 1962 with Petersen singing the tune to his on-screen father, actor Carl Betz, and made #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also recorded during the 1960s for Motown, including the singles "Chained" and "A Little Bit For Sandy".

Famous quotes containing the words singing and/or career:
“Our Germanys dead. However hard this may be for some of us older people, its a blessing for our children. Our children grew up against new backgrounds, new horizons. And they are free. Free to grow up as children. Free to run and to laugh without being forced into uniforms. Without being forced to march up and down streets, singing battle songs.”
—Emeric Pressburger (19021988)
“It is a great many years since at the outset of my career I had to think seriously what life had to offer that was worth having. I came to the conclusion that the chief good for me was freedom to learn, think, and say what I pleased, when I pleased. I have acted on that conviction... and though strongly, and perhaps wisely, warned that I should probably come to grief, I am entirely satisfied with the results of the line of action I have adopted.”
—Thomas Henry Huxley (182595)
