Life and Career
Kalember was born in Schenectady, New York, the daughter of Vivian Daisy (née Wright) and Robert James Kalember. She was raised in Westport, Connecticut and Louisville, Kentucky. Kalember has been married to British actor Daniel Gerroll since 1986. They have three children. She was previously married to Mark Torres, an actor. Kalember debuted in 1981 on the soap opera Texas. She was nominated for Outer Critics Circle Award for the performance of the play The Foreigner in 1986. In 1986 she won a leading role in the short-lived CBS TV series Kay O'Brien, which was closed after one season.
She starred in the movies Cat's Eye (1985), Little Girl Lost (1988), Fletch Lives (1989), Jacob's Ladder (1990), Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even (1992) and A Far Off Place (1993). From 1989 to 1991 she played Susannah Hart in Thirtysomething. From 1991 to 1996 she played the role of Georgiana "Georgie" Reed Whitsig in NBC series Sisters, with Swoosie Kurtz, Sela Ward and Julianne Phillips.
From 2002 to 2011, she starred in the movies A Time for Dancing, Signs, The Girl in the Park, The Company Men, Rabbit Hole and Limitless.
From 2001 to 2010, she had a recurring role as Judge Taten on the NBC series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2011 she appeared in two episodes of television series Blue Bloods.
