Coaching Style

Summitt is best known for giving her players an icy stare in response to poor play. However, by her own admission, she has mellowed considerably over the years. Tennessee at least twice asked Summitt to consider coaching the men's team, once before 1997 and again in 2001.

Famous quotes containing the word style:

Carlyle must undoubtedly plead guilty to the charge of mannerism. He not only has his vein, but his peculiar manner of working it. He has a style which can be imitated, and sometimes is an imitator of himself.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
