The math department has won the AMATYC community college mathematics competition numerous times. (PCC is currently the defending champion.)
Pasadena City College has a long history of teaching Ethnic studies at the community college level. These include courses in Asian American studies, Chicano studies, African American studies, and American Indian studies. Other classes offered are: History 41, Sociology 41, Psychology 41, and English 52.
